Training and Mentoring
We are business owners, accountants, business brokers and business valuers ourselves. We have invested countless hours and thousands of dollars in gaining mastery of the knowledge and practices needed by successful business brokers to be successful. Still we learn new things daily.
Business broking is a relatively new industry and the profession is struggling with the absence of qualified and professional teachers. Market research suggests that education, training and mentoring in this industry is vital but not generally reaching new participants. The largest broking firms struggle to allocate adequate resources to have formal training and education programs. The primary role is to list and sell businesses. Providing practical full-time education officers dedicated to the development of new staff is demanding in resources, both material and financial.
Generally, insufficient practical and hands on advice and guidance is limiting the industry. It is a major reason why so few people are seen to survive and prosper as business brokers.
We are probably unique in this industry for having developed and implemented a very successful and hands-on “Residential Broking School” for our associates. The development and successful commercialisation of our bespoke mentoring programs started in the early 2000’s when franchises demanded and obtained external training assistance. Since that early start, over 10,000 hours of face to face mentoring has been delivered to hundreds of new business owners in a variety of industries.
Negotia is now unique in the industry in holding both qualifications and training skills to successfully develop and deliver its own proprietary training and mentoring program. No other Australian Broking House can yet match our unique and successful program.
We are very proud to release this training and mentoring model. It is specifically for people new to the industry and for small and independent brokerages. It is the only practical solution for those who need help in successfully transitioning their excited, yet unskilled new members, at the commencement of their business broking career.
The mentoring program has been tried and tested over many years and dozens of industries. It works.
The Negotia Business Broker Mentoring Program has been developed specifically for the business broking industry. It applies in part, our external programs already developed and delivered to new business owners. It is just common sense to engage new business brokers about the industry, the business of business broking and their ‘business’ as business brokers.
This training for new brokers is focused on the individual business broker. It focuses on the knowledge, skills and practices they need to apply to be able to perform their role and be a business broker who remains in the industry.
